Chenega Corporation Engineer Technician - Journeyman in Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio

Summary

The Engineer Technician shall interact and coordinate with lateral organizations or external agencies as required, including base facility, personnel, security, computer support, and building managers to facilitate day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the evaluation and analysis of development and production of medical USAF Aeromedical devices.

  • Assist in the evaluation and analysis of commercial medical USAF Aeromedical devices.

  • Assist in verifying that equipment will operate safely and effectively in its intended or expected environment without endangering the patient and/or medical personnel.

  • Support reviews as necessary including supporting STF requirements reviews, in-process reviews, USG tests and/or developmental research, technical interchange meetings, test and evaluation activities, test management reviews, working group meetings and other STF test project management related activities.

  • Assist in conducting tests, including baseline assessments; vibration, temperature, humidity, blowing rain, sand, and dust; electromagnetic interference, explosive atmosphere, rapid decompression, altitude tests and in-flight assessments on STF candidate medical equipment using offsite test chambers and facilities.

  • Support in maintaining Test Equipment Inventory records, Test Equipment Calibration records, and coordinating calibration.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of biomedical engineering technician experience OR

  • High school diploma or GED and 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Secret clearance required

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting

  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals

  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications

  • Experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.

  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor.

  • Previous customer service experience strongly desired.

  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
