The salary for this position is $135k annually.

For 20+ years, NJVC has provided federal, DoD, and commercial customers with innovative and cost-effective solutions for their IT needs. NJVC approaches the work with the intensity expected of a mission-critical IT provider, working within the framework of people, processes, and technologies to meet customer requirements.
Enterprise IT Shared Services (EITSS) supports the department’s office of the chief information officer in developing and implementing an enterprise IT infrastructure and common operating environment across DOT. The contract still has 5 years left.
The Senior Service Management System Engineer provides support, implementation, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions. The Senior Service Management System Engineer resolves and appropriately completes assigned tasks and change requests and acts as an escalation for support issues. The Senior Service Management System Engineer applies new solutions through research and collaboration with team and determines course of action for new application initiatives. The Senior Service Management System Engineer implements new software solutions as required by the business. The core infrastructure technology duties include enterprise Microsoft Active Directory, ADFS, Microsoft Certificate Services, policy configuration, and top-level support for enterprise-wide initiatives.
Work you’ll do
As a Deskside Engineer within our EITSS team, you will:
Enterprise-level support for Active Directory for global initiatives following those through to implementation via collaboration with project and support teams.
Identify opportunities to innovate, extend, and enhance service delivery everywhere possible.
Perform Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for directory services environment.
Serve as escalation point for application support and troubleshooting and provide guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application, or system problems.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
Install, configure, and maintain Active Directory and third-party software utilities for hardware systems within company operational guidelines.
Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation.

Bachelor’s degree required
7+ years of experience providing Service Management System administration services
Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019 Administration (MCSE, MCITP certification
Background check with the ability to obtain a Public Trust

Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.
Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.
Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
Experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor.
Previous customer service experience strongly desired.
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
