Chenega Corporation Senior Middleware Engineer in Washington, District Of Columbia
Summary
The Senior Middleware Engineer will be integrated with Server, DB, and other teams and partner to deliver available and reliable infrastructure applications support for DOT’s application solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead the middleware team to conduct troubleshooting, handling incidents and emergency response, managing risk, and increasing performance and efficiency.
Work with business architects in developing middleware configurations based on requirements.
Identify and apply innovative technologies to update existing middleware services.
Ability to lead a team in solutioning middleware problems while coordinating other subject-matter experts.

Qualifications
BA/BS degree or higher
4+ additional years’ experience can be used in lieu of a degree
8+ years of related experience providing business solutions engineering support, including architectural design, engineering design, proof-of-concept development, pilots, analysis, results, and documentation
Possess experience with Apache tomcat, Webserver, Oracle application server, Oracle SOA suite, PHP, Python, IBM Infosphere, node.js, Microsoft .NET framework, Microsoft IIS, and Red Hat JBOSS application platform
Background check required with the ability to attain a public trust

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Server administration as related to middleware applications
Understand and apply network skills (e.g., TCP/IP, port mapping, routing, DNS masking)
Understanding of Oracle and SQL databases in physical and cloud environments as consumed and manipulated by middleware applications
Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
Experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor.
Previous customer service experience strongly desired.
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
