Chenega Corporation SAS System Administrator - Senior in Washington, District Of Columbia
The SAS System Administrator - Senior is responsible for administrating and managing the SAS environment. The SAS System Administrator - Senior performs maintenance, configuration, and deployment of SAS based systems. The SAS System Administrator - Senior implements major software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures are implemented and followed. The SAS System Administrator - Senior is responsible for incident management as it relates to SAS based platforms. The SAS System Administrator - Senior manages the interaction and integration of SAS with other systems.
Secure the SAS configuration on each server machine.
Check status and operate servers.
Monitor server activity and administer logging.
Establish formal, regularly scheduled backup processes.
Add users and manage their access.
Establish connectivity to data sources.
Set up and secure metadata folder structures.
Administer repositories and move metadata.
Understand the interaction between SAS servers and operating systems.
Other duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED required
8+ years of experience administrating and managing SAS platforms
Experience working with analytical systems
Active SAS Certified Platform Administrator certification or equivalent
Background check with the ability to obtain a public trust clearance

Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
Experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor
Previous customer service experience strongly desired
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021
