NJVC is currently looking for aLead Database Engineerto support an upcoming new contract supporting the DIA in the National Capital Region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading the analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of the work
Ensure the activities undertaken in the other relevant Tasks support a well designed and implemented data environment.
Utilize the Government-provided conceptual data model, along with the results of the other DTMI Tasks, in order to derive the appropriate logical and physical data models required for the database design and implementation.
Shall be the lead for all database performance optimization, scaling, and administration activities.
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Active TS/SCI Clearance
BS/BA Degree in relevant field or HS Degree and relevant years of experience.
8 years of experience with SQL Service or PostgreSQL.
8 years of experience with complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
3 years of experience with Sybase.
It isdesiredthat the Database Engineer Lead has the following qualifications:
Possess the following certifications:
DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II Certification including Security+
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification
Experience in non-relational databases such as NoSQL WideTable.
Experience with scaling complex and high volume relational databases.
Experience with database administration and security.
Experience using conceptual data models to inform accurate, effective, and efficient database design.
Experience with cloud development and Agile processes and tools.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.
Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
