Chenega Corporation Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Specialist in Washington, District Of Columbia


CHENEGA WORLDWIDE SUPPORT, LLC (CWS) a division of Chenega's Military, Intelligence & Operations Support (MIOS) is seeking a Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Specialist that wants to take their career to the next level by joining our team of professionals that support the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

The Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Specialist is based remotely or in Tunis, Tunisia and reports to the Libya Program Officer at the Middle East Regional Platform in Frankfurt, Germany. The DOC Specialist will frequently directly interact with the USAID/Libya Country Director, who is based in Tunis at the Libya External Office (LEO); the Head of the LEO’s Public Affairs Section; as well as with the Press and Public Affairs officers of other governments, Government of Libya entities, local and international businesses, and international and national NGOs operating in Libya.


As the DOC Specialist with the CWS / USAID team your primay duties will include:

Public Outreach: 40%

  • The DOC Specialist counsels Country Office leadership on targeted media placement including print, TV, radio, and Internet; s/he provides guidance to USAID technical teams and implementing partners on branding, story lines, engagement strategies and linkages with USAID and LEO strategic communication approaches etc.

Visibility Products and Materials: 40%

  • The DOC Specialist collects input, edits, and prepares information for use through a range of USAID products and platforms tailored to target audiences and manages the procurement and distribution of communications materials related to USAID foreign assistance in Libya. The DOC Specialist serves as a liaison for information requests coming from Washington.

Media Realtions: 20%

  • In coordination with the Public Affairs Section, the DOC Specialist counsels the Country Director and USAID staff on sensitivities and engaging with the local or international press. S/he works closely with PAS, who are the point of contact for U.S. and international media inquiries and is responsible for supporting USAID/Libya media activities, including monitoring media coverage on issues related to USAID activities in Libya.


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Fluent in English

  • Arabic language Skills and USAID experince highly desired

  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021.
