Summary:

The Configuration Management SME is considered an expert in all areas of Configuration Management, Hardware and Software Configuration, Data Management and management of Third-Party Software. The Configuration Management SME will support the Enterprise Configuration Management (ECfM) contract for a Government customer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing Enterprise Configuration Management policies and best practices in accordance with DESMF and ITIL policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the ECfM framework and overseeing the performance of all ECfM related activities.

  • Perform as ECfM Team Lead to balance workload across the entire support team to meet critical program deadlines and deliverables.

  • Serve as CfM Contractor SME while coordinating work efforts with various work centers and divisions.

  • Review non-Configuration Management policies and templates to determine risks impacts to customer.

  • Develop training materials for employees and customers within the customers environment.

  • Train all functional areas on CfM processes.

  • Provide direction and delegates work to lower level employees.

  • Serve, Lead or participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCB's).

  • Create and approve program Configuration Data Management Plans and contribute to the generating of program plans.

  • Support proposals by reviewing customer requirements and document defining best practices, identifying data items, close out costs, labor hours, etc. for proposals to determine scope and cost

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High school diploma/GED required

  • 8 years of related experience in configuration management within the last 10 years: developing, implementing or maintaining Enterprise Configuration Management systems and processes

  • Experience with Remedy v8 ITSM

  • Experience reviewing deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established standards and policies, demonstrating the highest attention to detail in execution and record keeping

  • Must have a project management certification.

  • Top secret clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The ability to display and perform advanced knowledge, and an applicable understanding of DESMF Configuration Management

  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively, collaboratively, and confidently in writing and in one-on-ones, small groups, and large group meetings

  • Ability to meet clearance requirements

  • Ability to travel

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
