Chenega Corporation Construction Manager (OCONUS) in Greece

Summary

The Construction Manager (OCONUS) will plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Construction Manager (OCONUS) will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion

  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs

  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations

  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors

  • Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory

  • Meet contractual conditions of performance

  • Review the work progress daily

  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status

  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones

  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses

  • Analyses, manage, and mitigate risks

  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques

  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the Project Director/COR

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited university in the field of Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in construction project management with specific on-site construction experience across all phases of project delivery

  • Vertical construction experience is a huge plus

  • Deployed to OCONUS locations 95% of the time

  • Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a top secret clearance

  • The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Embassy construction program experience highly desired.

  • Experience in security systems.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes means and methods.

  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.

  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process.

  • Familiarity with construction management software packages.

  • Ability to plan and see the "big picture".

  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.

  • Leadership and human resources management skills.

  • Strong organizational, communication and managerial skills, and be self-motivated yet work effectively in teams and with senior management.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Must be able to work 60-hours a week, six days a week, 10 hours a day
