Chenega Corporation Instructional Systems Specialist - Journeyman in Virginia

Summary

100% Remote from any U.S. location

The Instructional Systems Specialist - Journeyman works with an assigned subject matter expert in developing instructional material, coordinating educational content, and incorporating current technology into instruction to provide guidelines to OCONUS instructors for developing curricula and conducting courses.

Responsibilities

  • Create conventional logistics training materials and courseware.

  • Review content at all stages of the development process, from initiation to final completion, to provide quality assurance and to ensure conformance with contract specifications.

  • Maintain courseware lessons that support major military related subject matter.

  • Interpret compliance policy and standards for curriculum design and documentation for training conducted.

  • Independently perform training situation analyses and job task analyses, to support the functional design and development of synthetic training systems and equipment to solve problems.

  • Professionally document the results of analyses.

  • Use appropriate industry and Department of Defense standards and specifications.

  • Provide product/documents/reports, as required.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR

  • High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of related experience in the areas of:

  • Instructional Design Practices

  • Educational Evaluation

  • Instructional Product Development

  • Computers in Education and Training

  • 3+ years of practical experience working with the knowledge of learning theory and the principles, methods, practices, and techniques of one or more specialties of the instructional systems field.

  • Secret clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with Essential Accounting, Financial Bookkeeping, Statistics, and Total Quality Management is beneficial, but not required.

  • Be experienced in designing and developing instructional materials.

  • Knowledge of one or more subjects or occupations in which educational training instruction is provided:

  • Conduct occupational analysis, Instructional Design activities, Development of Instructional Materials, Training Aids and Devices, Instructional Services, Instructional Program Evaluation, Staff and Faculty Development, and Tests and Measurement.

  • Advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office suite and Outlook.

  • Possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal English language.

  • Ability to multi-task in a high-performance based environment.

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to self-start and work independently or as a team.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as requested.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required.
