Summary
The NJVC Spatial Solutions Division has an opening for an experienced DevOps Engineer to assist with the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of critical systems.
Responsibilities
The primary duties will be to support the development of a compute cluster project to enable custom code to create server clusters for large-scale analysis jobs.
Create GitLab Projects to house services.
Create a GitLab runner with software and privileges to run services.
Create EC2 IAM Instance roles that will be associated with the GitLab runner with privileges to execute jobs.
Investigate Code/Job needs for logging to provide the status (CW, GITLAB ingest) and script inclusion of status items into GITLAB.
Create and Maintain DevOps documentation.
Contribute to other developments and activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
BS in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or closely related discipline and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience
Understanding of custom code development/reviews
Direct experience with Python scripting
Experience with GITLAB functionality, error codes, and scripting
Familiar with AWS services/technologies (e.g. CloudWatch, IAM, EMR)
Experience supporting development testing
Experience with cloud-based architectures
Active Top-Secret Clearance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance
Understanding of DevOps methodologies and workflow
Knowledge of the Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
