Chenega Corporation Test and Evaluation Specialist in Pensacola, Florida


  • The Test and Evaluation Specialist will provide content management and software quality assurance support for all projects planned and executed for Navy eLearning (NeL) systems in support of the MyNavy HR IT Solutions. The Test and Evaluation Specialist will report to the Project Manager.


  • Review and provide inputs for documented standards and process guides for content hosting services.

  • Analyze content hosting issues, determine root cause, and apply solutions to resolve issue.

  • Resolve or communicate cause of problems exposed by testing or exposed by customer feedback.

  • Verify content adherence to program standards and commercial best practices.

  • Validate content adherence to sponsor-endorsed use cases.

  • Provide feedback on benefits and impacts of proposed modifications to content currently hosted by the system.

  • Evaluate content compatibility with computing configurations such as browsers and group policies.

  • Submit trouble tickets for issues related to services used for content hosting activities.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with technical support to resolve content evaluation and hosting service issues.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with content providers to resolve perceived or actual content issues.

  • Evaluate and report findings of content delivery and play-back operations at contingency operations site after failover is completed.

  • Evaluate and report findings of content delivery and play-back operations at normal operations site after restoration is completed.

  • Evaluate and provide critical feedback on proposed content delivery and play-back technologies.

  • Evaluate and provide critical feedback on emerging content standards and formats.

  • Confer with project management or project management support to establish content hosting priorities and to resolve resource and priority conflicts.

  • Provide content management inputs for project management plans, schedules, reports, briefs, demonstrations, and presentations.

  • Participate in calls, meetings, and technical reviews and provide expert content and experience profile management support.

  • Collaborate with content developers and provide recommendations for design and construction of content.

  • Collaborate with technical support for other organizations and companies to resolve content execution/playback issues.

  • Monitor progress toward meeting project milestones and report content readiness and retirement dates.

  • Monitor and report progress toward content releases for the Fleet.

  • Collect, consolidate, and communicate cost, schedule, and/or performance risk statements and risk mitigation techniques.

  • Schedule, facilitate, and prepare materials for meetings related to content release projects.

  • Ensure minutes of meetings and technical reviews are documented and distributed.

  • Perform content execution/playback testing for contingency operations test events.

  • Create or update reports or presentations using analyzed and assimilated quality assurance metrics data.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders of change requests and defects to understand nature of the change requested or defect reported.

  • Monitor and report progress toward meeting test and evaluation milestones and deliverables dates.

  • Analyze quality assurance metrics to identify resource changes based on the metrics.

  • Analyze quality assurance metrics to identify process improvements based on the metrics.

  • Review existing software quality assurance practices and procedures Review and provide critical feedback on test scripts.

  • Assess and confirm test readiness prior to start of each test and evaluation event.

  • Coordinate and lead test and evaluation events.

  • Provide test and evaluation event reports and results.

  • Assess issues associated with planned or completed test and evaluation events

  • Provide expertise in the use of Serena Dimensions.

  • Coordinate and lead initial contingency operations site test after failover event.

  • Report results of contingency operations site test after failover event.

  • Retain data for decommissioned repository according to data retention and offsite storage requirements.

  • Ensure security controls are applied to retained data associated with decommissioned repository.

  • Coordinate and lead normal operations site test after restoration (from contingency operations) event.

  • Report results of normal operations site test after restoration (from contingency operations) event.

  • Provide inputs for application test and evaluation documents.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma

  • 5+ Years of Relevant IT Experience

  • Experience with the Navy and the Navy’s Learning Management System Preferred.

  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+ or SSCP to comply with Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) Knowledge Manager (431) role at an Intermediate or Higher Proficiency Level and CSWF System Testing and Evaluation Specialist (671) role at a Basic or Higher Proficiency Level.

  • Favorably completed Tier 3 (T3) Background Investigation or Tier 3 Reinvestigation (T3R) equivalent investigation

  • The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and experience with content management experience for systems hosting content of multiple formats delivered by multiple unassociated content providers for play-back via a content hosting infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of and experience with content verification against established standards, support for content hosting infrastructure test and evaluation, process-oriented content assessment and deployment, customer support services, and technical writing.

  • Knowledge of and experience with test and evaluation, software configuration management experience encompassing change requests and deficiency reporting, or both.

  • Knowledge of and experience with support for test and evaluation of computing systems, critical feedback for test artifacts for all phases of test events, software change management, software defect management, and project metrics tracking and reporting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
