The Construction Superintendent (CS) will provide on-site management of all work efforts associated with the demolition and replacement of a roof system, replacement of HVAC system and installation of a back-up generator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management duties include: plan, schedule, resource and cost management, preparation of reports and deliverables, establish and maintain records, and quality control.

  • Meet all technical, and contractual requirements of the procurement, delivery, installation, configuration, testing, operating, and turnover of building systems

  • Perform as the primary technical and managerial interface with the client, the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer Representative

  • Responsible for the supervision, technical guidance, effective utilization, and deliverables completed by other staff as applicable

  • Maintain a complete quality control program in accordance with the Client’s Quality Control Plan to assure installation and testing of systems meet requirements

  • Create and submit progress reports that address the status of activities for various aspects of the contract

  • Submit weekly reports to the Client’s representative(s)

  • Responsible for the installation, testing and verification of all facility systems

  • Verify network proficiency, manage the equipment warranty program, operate and maintain the facility’s equipment and control systems, and respond to service requests

  • Develop work plans to coincide with concurrent (by others) building construction schedule

  • Coordinate all activities with Client, Client Representatives, and other entities associated with the buildings and planned works

  • Act with full authority on all contract matters relating to daily operations

  • Coordinate with various trades performing related work

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or program/project management or equivalent is preferred

  • Experience and knowledge in utility designs, system installations, testing and commissioning, as well as applying building codes and facility criteria standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Secret Clearance is preferred

  • Ability to gain Government Agency Installation access through a background check

  • 10 years of management experience in engineering, program management or related field is preferred

  • Experience in replacement of major building systems including but not limited to: roof systems, HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing systems is preferred

  • Ability to travel CONUS

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project is preferred

  • Knowledge of computer-based facilities management software desired

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
