Summary: TheSupply Chain Manager coordinates, organizes, and oversees all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the organization’s goods and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire process in the planning of procurement and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics and distribution, ensuring effectively-functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities

  • Ensure effective lines of communication between the Program Manager and the procurement team to ensure priority requirements, timely delivery of goods and services using the most appropriate procurement procedures

  • Be responsible for introducing process improvements in the supply chain and identify new vendors/suppliers without jeopardizing quality and service delivery

  • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors that facilitate smooth flow of services to the government customer

  • Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with the government customer

  • Implement effective internal control, proper design and functioning of a client-oriented procurement management system for projects and related reporting requirements

  • Ensure effective use of internal Standard Operating Procedures in procurement, control of workflows, continuous business processes monitoring and elaboration of improvements in systems and processes

  • Manage and monitor all transactional procurement including tendering processes, evaluation, contracting, contract management, legal considerations and payment conditions, contractors, performance evaluation and risk assessment

  • Implement strategic procurement including sourcing strategy, supplier selection and evaluation, quality management, customer relationship management and performance measurement

  • Develop and manage the rosters of suppliers, elaborate supplier selection and evaluation, quality and performance measurement mechanisms

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual procurement plans and progress reports as required

  • Promote a zero-tolerance for violations of procurement policies and procedures.

  • Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspective.

  • Build relationships within the company and with external parties, such as suppliers or distributors.

  • Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements.

  • Understanding of principles of accounting and finance.

  • Collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds in order to identify problems and find solutions.

  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy

  • Collaborate with contractor and government customer teams

  • Determine key supply chain KPIs

  • Suggest solutions for process improvements

  • Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner

  • Train and evaluate others

  • Provide constructive feedback

  • Build and maintain good relationships with vendors

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field

  • Years of experience in Supply Chain Management

  • US Government Top Secret Security Clearance

  • If required, be able to successfully complete a counterintelligence-based polygraph examination.
