Summary: TheSupply Chain Manager coordinates, organizes, and oversees all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the organization’s goods and services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the entire process in the planning of procurement and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics and distribution, ensuring effectively-functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities
Ensure effective lines of communication between the Program Manager and the procurement team to ensure priority requirements, timely delivery of goods and services using the most appropriate procurement procedures
Be responsible for introducing process improvements in the supply chain and identify new vendors/suppliers without jeopardizing quality and service delivery
Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors that facilitate smooth flow of services to the government customer
Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with the government customer
Implement effective internal control, proper design and functioning of a client-oriented procurement management system for projects and related reporting requirements
Ensure effective use of internal Standard Operating Procedures in procurement, control of workflows, continuous business processes monitoring and elaboration of improvements in systems and processes
Manage and monitor all transactional procurement including tendering processes, evaluation, contracting, contract management, legal considerations and payment conditions, contractors, performance evaluation and risk assessment
Implement strategic procurement including sourcing strategy, supplier selection and evaluation, quality management, customer relationship management and performance measurement
Develop and manage the rosters of suppliers, elaborate supplier selection and evaluation, quality and performance measurement mechanisms
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual procurement plans and progress reports as required
Promote a zero-tolerance for violations of procurement policies and procedures.
Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspective.
Build relationships within the company and with external parties, such as suppliers or distributors.
Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements.
Understanding of principles of accounting and finance.
Collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds in order to identify problems and find solutions.
Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
Collaborate with contractor and government customer teams
Determine key supply chain KPIs
Suggest solutions for process improvements
Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
Train and evaluate others
Provide constructive feedback
Build and maintain good relationships with vendors
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Years of experience in Supply Chain Management
US Government Top Secret Security Clearance
If required, be able to successfully complete a counterintelligence-based polygraph examination.
