Chenega Corporation Systems Engineer, Mid-Level in Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts


The Systems Engineer - Mid-Level supports Chenega’s Collaborative Nerve Center (CNC) engineering team supporting the collaboration and integration efforts to streamline multiple Air Force (AF) programs through integrated engineering support services and a “nerve center” approach. This effort supports the Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C3I) Infrastructure Division’s Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program in addition to other programs within the HNI Directorate of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).


  • Provide SEAM management across multiple Lines of Efforts (LoE) and partners and vendors to facilitate timely and effective decision-making and implementations.

  • Provide engineering services and multi-program supportability through SEAM management and metrics analysis to streamline and improve process and execution.

  • Communicate and deliver results as part of a flexible, collaborative, and agile workforce which is co-located in a common work environment.

  • Support the delivery of innovative IT to the warfighter using the latest technologies.

  • Support similar Air Force efforts and missions with effective communication, improved efficiency, and effective solutions for an improved user experience.

  • Support the implementation of innovative solutions to the warfighter with the latest technologies and best practices.

  • Serve as a liaison with current and prospective program customers and industry and Air Force stakeholders.

  • Meet or exceed industry standards through versatile Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), including inter-dependent programs.

  • Ensure information superiority because of a culture that fosters high quality through secure and continuous improvement.

  • Maintain a responsive customer focus for all program customers, partners, and a diverse set of stakeholders across industry and the Air Force.

  • Promote a “can do” self-organizing culture that is product-focused to deliver faster and more effective business capabilities.

  • Support a collaborative, flexible, and agile environment that removes barriers to achieve EITaaS milestones and capabilities.

  • Support Product Support Integrators (PSIs) in data analytics and Air Force Network (AFNET) with data interpretation and reconciliation.

  • Ensure valued solutions by encouraging innovation and comprehensive, end-to-end product and service solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Support the Systems Engineering team by actively contributing to working groups, coordinating meetings and reviews, to align and integrate efforts and meet target milestones and requirements.

  • Identify, track, resolve, and communicate solutions to issues and risks for program decision-makers and stakeholders.

  • Provide inputs and updates to required reports (e.g., monthly Program Status Report).

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience supporting a project of similar size and complexity

  • High school diploma or GED and a combination of additional experience, education, and training may be used in lieu of degree

  • Secret clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Air Force Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS) or related IT program support is desired.

  • Background in Systems Engineering and IT project management is desired.

  • DoDD 8570.01 compliant certification (Sec + Certification) are desired.

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification is desired.

  • PMI Certified Agile Practitioner or Certified Scrum Master is a plus.

  • Well organized, an effective communicator at multiple levels, and able to grasp system concepts and communicate their applications.

  • Capable of quickly learning new systems and associated software applications for proficient execution of tasks.

  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • Ability to execute multiple projects with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.

  • Speak effectively before groups of internal and/or external customers or employees.

  • High level of integrity and accountability.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021.
