Chenega Corporation Social Media Manager in Fort Eustis, Virginia
The Social Media Manager will manage the EMC’s official social media presence, to assist with branding and messaging strategy. Manages media/computer systems located on U.S. Army networks and directed social media platforms.
Must be responsible for managing the organization’s official social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram accounts to communicate the work of the Armed Forces, Department of Defense (DoD), and federal agencies.
Conduct social media analysis and make recommendations to leadership on branding and content.
Coordinate with customer clients and manage production teams to accomplish client requirements.
Serve as the subject matter expert on social media policies, techniques, best practice, and actively engage the public while maintaining security and privacy.
Must track social media metrics to determine audience growth rate, volume, reach, engagement, and activity.
Ensure an official social media site is registered and labeled as a “government organization” account and is submitted for approval on the U.S. Army Social Media Directory.
Ensure the URL is part of all major commands, and Joint Bases, to include but not limited to the Army’s Homepage of the:
S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC),
S. Army Installations Management Command (IMCOM),
S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM),
S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM),
S. Army Cyber Command and U.S. Army Military District of Washington.
Conduct social media analysis, create, and deliver a monthly social media metrics report.
Create a monthly calendar to manage online content across multiple platforms.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, publications, or a related field of study.
5+ years of experience in planning, developing, and executing communication strategy for social media accounts.
Background check required.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to pass customer security requirements.
Must possess strong experience in digital marketing, including web content strategy and social media marketing.
Strong leadership qualities along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Possess an intermediate knowledge of content management systems to coordinate and collaborate with the Digital Intermediate Technologist (D.I.T.) for search engine optimization using the EMC Visual Media Library, and the Graphics, Non-Linear Interactive Digital Content Development Designer for the web, and tracking analytics.
Strong customer service skills, including verbal communication and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Possess strong analytical and metrics-oriented mindset that can not only process quantitative results but also provide actionable suggestions based on these results.
Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations.
Possess strong interpersonal skills, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
Shall complete OPSEC II Training requirements to release content to the public on social media platforms.
Maintain certification requirements, including classes, credentialing, and continual certification as required.
Takes initiative and effectively anticipates what’s needed.
Facebook buying or planning advertising certification a plus.
Ability to work efficiently with a high attention to detail.
