The Android Mobile Developer – Senior is equally skilled with the whiteboard and the keyboard. The Android Mobile Developer – Senior will work side-by-side with key client stakeholders to envision, design, and implement complex technical solutions. In addition to direct client work, the Android Mobile Developer – Senior will help Precocity develop solutions and capabilities that help differentiate and give us an edge in the market.
Work directly with the executive leadership team to help craft our company's go-to-market strategy related to solutions in analytics and big data space
Work with existing and prospective clients to understand their business context and craft best-in-class solutions to their toughest problems
Architect and implement best-in-class solutions using technologies
Contribute to the internal knowledge base to build expertise and awareness within the organization
Design and build applications for the Android platform
Manage the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
Support and maintain code quality, organization, and continuous automation
Write clean, stable, documented, and tested code

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
7+ years of Android SDK and or mobile development experience
2+ years of Kotlin language experience
Experience with source-control practices such as Git and TFS etc.
Experience working closely with back-end developers and an understanding of how-to best interface with APIs
Experience working in an Agile development, including knowledge of common roles and basic terms and concepts

Ability to deliver independently without oversight from management.
Capable of providing technical direction on projects without guidance from clients. We expect you to have opinions!
Some consulting experience preferred.
Ability and desire to work in a consulting environment where understanding new business and technical contexts on a regular basis is the norm.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A passion for technology with a strong desire to constantly be learning and honing your craft.
Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes and hardware.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, like “touch”.
Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, like gyroscopes and accelerometers.
Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
Familiarity with React a plus.
Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, like Git.
Proficiency with build/dependency management tools, including Gradle and Maven.
Familiarity with continuous integration.
Familiarity with mobile device testing tools/frameworks.
Knowledge of JNI is a plus.
