Reports To: Creative Director

FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time, Regular

Summary:

The Designer IV will concept, storyboard, and design visual communications products including but not limited to web and print materials, visualizations and information graphics, briefings, animations and videos, under the supervision of the Creative Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce a variety of design assets in support of client deliverables and in-house initiatives.

  • Design and layout content for customer presentations.

  • Create visualizations and complex information graphics.

  • Research and create mood boards, storyboards and comps as part of the design exploration process.

  • Meet established deadlines and assure accurate completion of assigned projects.

  • Interface with customer and technical team during discovery phase of business development opportunities, to gather information and create strategic plan.

  • Mentor and guide junior designers.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and 5 years of related experience OR Master’s Degree and 3 years of related experience.

  • Experience using visualization tools including:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (including Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Specifically page layout and visualization tools available in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)

  • Portfolio submission of recent work.

  • Active TS/SCI w/ FS Polygraph clearance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-starter, strategic creative thinker, and detailed oriented

  • Ability to both take initiative and support senior designers and art directors.

  • Ability to combine creative thinking with strong layout and production skills using digital technologies to generate groundbreaking design solutions for government and commercial customers.

  • Experience with HTML/CSS a plus

  • Knowledge and skill in at least four of the following:

  • Web and interactive design

  • UI/UX and design thinking

  • Digital file preparation and print production

  • Data visualization and information graphics

  • Brand application

  • Wire framing or storyboarding

  • Typography

  • Video or 3D modeling asset production

  • Motion/Video/Audio production

  • Information Architecture

  • Modeling and Simulation

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
