The Front End Web Developer will develop modern, dynamic, and interactive native and web applications, websites, and web-based analytic tools that enable our customers to productively interact with their data.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop highly interactive, multimedia-rich applications that engage users, support strategic and analytic problem solving, complex data visualization, and interactive training.

  • Develop, test, and deliver websites, applications, and components to ensure project completion.

  • Work within an Agile Lifecycle Methodology to plan, estimate, design, develop, test, and deploy capabilities.

  • Integrate multimedia assets into projects.

  • Help develop and follow practices in development standards, design patterns, and testing standards.

  • Responsible for the development of major and minor native and web applications and solutions.

  • Drive innovation within currently assigned projects.

  • Continually seek understanding of the intersection between business, user experience, workflow, and technology.

  • Proactively and objectively communicate project status, concerns, and risks to team, leadership, and stakeholders.

  • Work in an agile software development team, incrementally developing working software

  • Create and maintain product backlog in JIRA, VSTS, or similar

  • Participate in estimating the product backlog items

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relvant experience

  • Demonstrated experience in developing accessible websites (508 compliance).

  • Hands-on experience developing custom UI components and directives

  • Hands-on experience converting UX/VD into HTML

  • Experienced with responsive web design

  • Experienced with object-oriented design and implementation

  • Experienced in developing and consuming web services (SOAP/REST)

  • Experienced working with Agile Scrum methodology and VSTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work as part of a highly-skilled, multi-faceted agile team including other developers, designers, and management with a proclivity for team-oriented practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform full system testing.

  • Familiar with all layers of the full web stack including hosting environments, data layers, web servers, business logic layers, API and MVC layers, and UI/UX layers

  • Understand and model business requirements while respecting the existing architecture and systems.

  • The ability to analyze functional problems and to choose the most appropriate solution

  • Technical skills: AngularJS, jQuery, Electron, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, GitHub, AJAX, REST API, HTML, ES6 (JavaScript), React, Redux, Typescript, npm/yarn, and Apache Tomcat

  • Familiarity with OS/Software/Apps: Linux/Centos 7, Atlassian Suite (JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket), Chrome/Firefox and browser developer tools

  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills

  • Documentation skills to translate requirements into specifications for program objects, functions, and systems.

  • Requires the skills to train, mentor and share knowledge in both individual and group settings

  • Can demonstrate team working skills bridging design, presentation, and core technical skills

  • Understanding of security standards and current knowledge of privacy by design

  • Preferred but not necessary: Webpack, React Storybook, Jest (testing), 3 rd party JavaScript libraries such as Leaflet.js, DHTMLX Gantt, rc-tree, JSS, and Jenkins
