Chenega Corporation Database Administrator in Chantilly, Virginia
The NJVC Spatial Solutions team has an opening for an experienced Database Administrator to work on cloud-based systems with a mission operations team. The team is involved in operation and sustainment of multiple operational cloud deployed geospatial solutions. A successful candidate will have experience with administration, support, and maintenance of cloud-based databases/Amazon RDS instances.
Primary responsibilities will involve sustainment and management of multiple mission operational geodatabases of cloud-base systems.
Responding to DB incident reports (e.g., DB locks).
Performing DB checks.
Running DB queries.
Performing routing DB checks.
Analyzing future DB needs.
Working with users to implement data standards by creating and updating the data dictionary and automated data validation functions.
Other duties as assigned
BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience OR
Master’s degree and 6+ years of prior relevant experience
Experience in AWS/cloud technologies
Extensive hands-on experience in all DBA tasks, like user management, backup and recovery, snapshot creation, and deletion
Experience in RDS and SQL technology
DOD 8570 certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)
Active TS/SCI clearance

Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor.
Previous customer service experience strongly desired.
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
