System Administrator Entry - Level

NJVC is currently seeking a talented System Administrator Entry - Level that will be part of an integrated Operations & Sustainment team that provides critical mission support to a DOD customer. TheSystem Administrator Entry - Level will interface with other engineers co-located, as well as located at other agency facilities. TheSystem Administrator Entry - Level provides support on the Panama shift to include weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing support to the engineering team day-to-day engineering operations of the customer’s application, as well as aid with monitoring and problem investigation for segment interfaces.
Support on-site engineers and provide technical customer service support, including logging and triaging trouble calls, monitoring customer requests via email, and collaborating with engineering team and customers via Jabber.
Work with the engineering team to provide junior system administration and engineering support.
Shadow more senior members of the engineering team, to learn and develop engineering skills as a path towards becoming a more advanced System Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
High school degree and 3+ years of IT experience
TS/SCI clearance required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Security+ required within 90 days of hire
Basic knowledge of Linux commands (e.g. can "ls", "cd", "pwd", "grep")
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, including Mail, Word, and Excel, etc.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Excellent communications skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
DOD and/or intelligence community experience preferred
Ability and willingness to work with the team even if it includes performing routine tasks
Ability and willingness to learn new things to work towards becoming a more advanced Application Support Engineer
Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
Experience working in a home office setting
Ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and professional demeanor
Previous customer service experience strongly desired
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
