Chenega Corporation Load Balance Systems Administrator in Alexandria, Virginia

Summary

NJVC is currently supporting the DIA under the Infrastructure Services Enterprise Operations (ISEO) task order. The contract currently has 3 plus year left. NJVC will provide an array of services and solutions that include desktop systems support, data center support, security, architecture, applications management, mobile device services, and traffic management. The focus of the work is to maximize operational excellence and technical innovations and automations to move the DIA toward a digital future.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and brokering PKI authentication features provided by the F5 appliance are operational at all times

  • Update to new technologies, tune performance and implement critical system patches.

  • Responsible for implementation, operations, and maintenance of load balancer technologies in a global enterprise across multiple networks

  • Ensure load balancing configurations and PKI certificates are backed up in accordance with customer policies

  • Alert load balancing and reverse proxy customers prior to PKI certificate expiration and assist with certificate renewals as necessary

  • Create, manage, and troubleshoot load balanced IP address spaces

  • Develop and implement technical solutions in collaboration with engineers and architects

  • Provide after-hours support to 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with troubleshooting service outages

  • Develop and update technical solutions, operating procedures and other documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with initial troubleshooting/triage efforts

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, Masters’s degree with 6+ years

  • Education equivalency of Associate’s with 10+ years of related experience or high school diploma with 12+ years of related experience can be used in lieu of bachelor’s degree

  • Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)

  • Candidate must possess an F5 Certified Administrator (201) or higher certification

  • Experienced in administering and managing F5 load balancer appliances in an enterprise environment

  • Extensive experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting load-balanced IP address spaces

  • Experience working independently on technical network activities in support of a client

  • Experience interfacing with team members on requirements and solutions

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

  • The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting

  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment

  • Ability to work with on-premises and cloud resources

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals

  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues

  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired

  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
