The IA Specialist will provide support to the Software Engineering Center (SEC) including performing audit functions for the Agent of the Certification Authority (ACA) or other government Information Assurance (IA) Manager for risk mitigation and reporting to include report generation for certification and accreditation packages efforts
Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete Security Authorization packages, to include system security plans (SSP), security assessment reports, POAM summaries, and other core documents in order to obtain an ATO (Authorization to Operate).
Communicate with the system owner, ISSO, ISSM, and senior leadership regarding security considerations of the system.
Compile and document artifacts such as SOPs, certifications, policies, scans, checklists, and POA&Ms generated or collected that are required for C&A or A&A submission.
Coordinate and regularly communicate with the SEC.
Prepare status reports as well as briefings for the customer and upper management.
Review Army system owner’s documentation for compliance
Support security authorization activities in compliance with NIST and FISMA Information System Certification and Accreditation Process.

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience required
Additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.
Experience with FISMA and NIST 800 series guidance
DoD 8570 IAM I Certified
Computing Environment Cert Required
Top Secret clearance required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in a professional environment
Problem-solving and organizational skills are required
Good verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with co-workers and the customer
Experience working with DOD preferred
Must understand Information Assurance methodology and security principles
